UFC megastar Conor McGregor has been speaking about former fellow UFC star Nate Diaz’s recently announced fight with YouTuber turned boxer Jake Paul.
McGregor and Diaz shared the Octagon on two occasions delivering two main blockbuster events in 2016. At UFC 196, Diaz shocked the world by handing McGregor the first loss of his UFC career, submitting the Irishman in the second round. In the same year, at UFC 202, McGregor got redemption by earning a decision victory after a bloody twenty-five minutes.
Looking ahead to his former foe’s bout with Paul, McGregor see’s nothing expect a win for the former UFC star:
“I think Nate slaps the head off him! And I look forward to seeing it!”
Looking ahead to his former foe’s bout with Paul, McGregor sees nothing expect a win for the former UFC star:
“I’ll probably be on the Lamborghini just off the coast of Sicily.”
The former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion spoke outside a Las Vegas casino. This was after watching the highly anticipated boxing match between Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia earlier in the night. The contest ended in the seventh round after ‘Tank’ Davis landed a devastating body shot, cutting Garcia down to size.
After suffering his first loss, Ryan Garcia was given some words of encouragement by Conor McGregor, who came to see him and his team in his dressing room:
“Yous two are the biggest names in the division. I wanna see it again!”
Conor McGregor vs. Nate Diaz III. When? Where? MMA or Boxing?
Conor has always been complimentary of Diaz. And especially his style of fighting. This is despite Diaz handing him his first loss in the UFC, and it seems that Conor is more than happy to see Nate be victorious once again. When asked about a possible trilogy fight with Diaz, The Notorious said on the MMA Hour back in March:
“That trilogy will happen at some stage, for sure.”

The bout between Paul and Diaz will see the return of Jake Paul. In February, he was handed his first professional loss at the hands of Tommy Fury. The loss was via split decision. Meanwhile, this will be Nate Diaz’s first professional boxing match.
Fancy a Flutter?
Despite the loss in his last fight, Jake Paul comes in as the overwhelming bookies’ favourite. He currently stands at around 4/9 to win the fight, while his opponent Diaz is 21/10. For both men to play out a draw, the odds stand at 15/1. One thing is for certain. There will be plenty of trash talk back and forth between these two!
Jake ‘The Problem Child’ Paul and Stockton’s own Nate Diaz are scheduled to fight on August 5th at the American Airlines Centre in Dallas and is live on DAZN PPV.
