Conor McGregor has taken aim at a number of the sport’s most accomplished coaches.
McGregor has built up a reputation for tweeting and deleting over the last several years. Usually, his competitors are in the firing line, but this time, the Irishman aims at the coaches.
July of 2021 was the last time McGregor walked to the UFC’s Octagon after suffering a second consecutive loss to Dustin Poirier due to injury. Ahead of his rumoured return later in the year against Michael Chandler, McGregor has indulged back into a coaching role for his second stint on The Ultimate Fighter. Having spent time coaching his own group of fighters, McGregor compared his and Coach John Kavanagh’s style to some of the best coaches in the game.
In a series of deleted tweets found below, McGregor claimed his team style on ‘TUF’ defeated names like Firas Zahabi, Greg Jackson, and Javier Mendez, among others.
UFC Fighter Conor McGregor Fires at MMA’s Top Coaches
McGregor further backs his statement by saying the system Coach Kavanagh and SBG Ireland have in place is unbeatable, and in the upcoming season of ‘TUF,’ the public will understand.
Ali Abdelaziz Has His Say
MMA manager Ali Abdelaziz, who has had heaps of back-and-forth with McGregor in the past, was quick to respond and told the former two-weight division champion to ‘grow up. McGregor then fired back, declaring his team had defeated fighters from the coaches he initially brought up.
“Hey, s–t stain on the game, I’m talking as of now it is beginning to bare fruit,” he wrote. “We beat their system of fighting on TUF. It’s locked down. It’s no wonder s–t pants scurried. There’s no competing now. The head of the style is too fat a b–ch and afraid to compete again. So we win. You can’t compete with us. Watch and witness you rat bastard.”

If true, McGregor may receive a phone call from UFC President Dana White, as he perhaps leaked results from the show before it aired. The show is scheduled to air in May, with the viewership numbers expected to break an all-time ‘TUF’ record. No date has been announced for McGregor vs. Chandler. However, the fight should take place at the end of 2023 or early 2024.
