Conor McGregor announced his return to Combat Sports with a boxing fight lined up against Logan Paul.
The Irishman who hasn’t fought since his leg injury to Dustin Poirier in 2020 announced the news on X.
Logan Paul on the other hand has fought Dillon Danis and Floyd Mayweather.
Conor McGregor Vs Logan Paul
Conor McGregor sparked bedlam on his X account this morning and revealed a potential fight with Logan Paul. The Irishman said; “The rumors of a bout with Topurio are false. I am in preliminary agreements with the Ambani family to face Logan Paul in a boxing exhibition in India.”
McGregor went on to say; “I have agreed. I will then seek my return to the Octagon.”
Rumours were developing that a fight would take place between Conor McGregor and featherweight champion Ilia Topuria with the Spanish fighter moving up to lightweight for the fight. The champion himself did entertain the idea of a fight with McGregor but that seems unlikely with Connor himself denying the rumours.
Logan Paul himself has two professional boxing fights following his successful YouTube career. The American lost to Floyd Mayweather but subsequently beat Dillon Danis in what was an embarrassing fight from start to finish. The YouTube sensation has dabbled in to the world of WWE by featuring in their pay per views over the last year.
Off Ring antics dominate the fight
During the build up to their fight next year off ring antics have dominated the headlines. Just a few weeks ago Conor McGregor was convicted of rape by a court in Ireland which has seriously damaged his credibility as Ireland’s biggest sporting superstar.
On the other hand, Logan Paul has been accused using cryptocurrency to scam his fans which has resulted in backlash from his audience. Whilst many believe that they will never see their money again Paul has kept quiet on the allegations.
