Hidden among the star-studded PFL 10 card is a supremely talented Flyweight looking to once again make her mark. Dakota Ditcheva will make her second walk to the PFL cage in the early hours of Saturday morning.
A UK prospect of the highest order, Dakota has shown her early promise across her short career so far. Picked up by the PFL earlier this year, it appears she will be a focal point of the company’s 125 lbs division.
Amateur Career
From a fighting family, she grew up in and around the sport. A Muay Thai amateur champion with a 10-1 kickboxing record, she made the transition into MMA in 2019.
Taking to the amateur ranks to compete in four fights. She won all four decisively, earning two finishes and two decisions across four outings.
Drawing attention to herself with a slew of impressive displays inside the cage, it didn’t take long for her to gain the attention of some of the UK’s biggest promotions.
Winning her last amateur contest in August of 2020 via submission. It was just eight months later when she would make her first professional walk.
Journey to the PFL
Taking to the cage in April of 2021, Dakota didn’t waste time dispatching her opponent. Earning a first-round stoppage at Cage Steel 25 against fellow debutant Jenny Line.
Her second fight was much of the same, coming five months later at Celtic Gladiator 30. Ditcheva only needed one round to earn a TKO win over Kerry Isom.
Now proving she was the real deal, a step up in competition was in order. Her toughest test to date came against a 4-5 Patricia Borges at UKFC 17. Once again Dakota Ditcheva delivered, defeating her opponent in the first.
Catching the eye of promotions globally, Dakota’s next fight would land her in Canada. Where at PAWFC 1 Dakota would co-main event the show. Taking on an 8-3 Simone da Silva. Another impressive showing saw Ditcheva finish the fight in the second round this time with some brutal ground and pound.
Next up was a trip to UAE Warriors 28. With a 4-0 start to her career, the competition was picking up. Battling to remain undefeated her opponent was another prospect. Across the cage was the 5-0 Paula Cristina. Unfazed by the task at hand Dakota would defeat Paula via unanimous decision.
PFL
With an impressive back catalogue to her name. An impressive 4-0 amateur record and an even more impressive 5-0 professional record. It was only a matter of time before a big promotion came calling.
Announced earlier this year, it was the PFL who swooped in to secure the signature of Dakota. Not wasting any time, the 23-year-old would make her first appearance for the promotion at PFL 9 in London.
With the lights shining the brightest, Ditcheva did the same. Wasting little time in making her mark on PFL delivering a first-round TKO. After a blitzing barrage of strikes, a knee to the body saw her opponent crumple to the canvas. It took just 57 seconds to defeat Hassna Gaber.
Set to make her second walk at PFL 10 she’ll feature on the prelims on the biggest card in the promotion’s history. Taking on 2-0 Katherine Corogenes. Ditcheva, the striking specialist, will hope to showcase her skills and ever-evolving MMA game.
