Dakota Ditcheva was coming into this season with a lot of expectations and a lot of hyper to her name. The PFL Europe Champion proved everyone right as she was able to secure a first-round TKO.
British MMA Fighter Dakota Ditcheva Secured a First Round TKO Victory at PFL
The PFL Europe women’s flyweight champion Dakota Ditcheva was in action this evening (April 4th). Dakota was able to prove to everyone she is a real threat in this tournament. She was also able to prove to everyone that this was the correct move for her career. The Brit was able to put to bed any rumours that this was too big of a step up at this stage.
Lisa Mauldin had the crowd behind her as she tried her best to do an upset and secure the victory. However, after surviving multiple punches from Ditcheva, it was a body shot that would start at the beginning of the end.
Ditcheva knocked Mauldin down due to a body shot early in Round one, and Mauldin was able to survive and get back to the feet. However, that would last seconds as a kick to the body would end up dropping Mauldin once again.
This time Mauldin would cover up as Ditcheva jumped in. This lead to the referee to stop the fight.
Dakota Will Have the Tiebreaker
Dakota Ditcheva will be given six points for this first-round victory. Due to this victory being quicker than both Taila Santos and Jenna Bishop, she will have the tiebreaker.
This may be crucial for Dakota in terms of seedings as well as qualifying for the playoffs. Dakota was able to showcase her skills in the octagon. She proved to everyone why she was able to clinch the PFL Europe title and made sure everyone would notice her going forward.
Lisa Mallin may have this setback currently. However, she was undefeated going into this fight under the PFL banner. If she can secure a quick finish next time around there is still a chance she can qualify for the playoffs.
