As we gear up for the much-anticipated Goliath Fight Series 6 on March 23, we had the privilege to chat with Dale Sheridan, one of the contenders in the upcoming four-man amateur bantamweight tournament. Dale, with nine fights under his belt, is no stranger to the cage, but this tournament format adds a unique twist to his journey.
Competing in a four man tournament may be a new experience for the majority of athletes, but not Dale:
“Yeah, I’ve been in a four-man tournament before, so it’s nothing new. I’ve had a good number of fights in a short time, so I’m pretty used to it.”
When asked about the stress of preparing for potentially different opponents and styles, Dale’s laid-back approach shines through:
“I’m not going in with a specific game plan. I’ll just do my thing and let them worry about me. No stress here; been through it plenty of times. I’m just here to enjoy it.”
Dale Sheridan Talks Goliath Fight Series 6
With regards to scouting his opponents, Dale keeps it simple.
“I took a quick look at them. They seem to be into striking and fancy shots, but honestly, it doesn’t matter to me who I face. I’m ready for anyone.”
The £1000 cash prize for the winner is a significant incentive for any amateur fighter, and Dale sees it as a chance to treat himself.
“Yeah, the cash prize is definitely motivating. It’ll cover a holiday to Lanzarote for me, so that’s a nice bonus.”
And for the Scottish fans eagerly awaiting his performance, Dale promises excitement.
“What to expect? Big shots, big slams, and a finish. I’m not here to go the distance.”
With Dale Sheridan’s relaxed yet determined mindset, fans can expect nothing short of an electrifying performance come fight night at Goliath Fight Series 6.
