Tonight sees Matchroom debut their first ever double header. Spanning across 2 continents from Nottingham to Las Vegas, 13 fights, 26 fighters, all on one broadcast. Headlined by Dalton Smith vs Walid Ouizza and Diego Pacheco vs Steven Nelson.
Dalton Smith vs Walid Ouizza – The Preview
First up for the night is the Super-Lightweight European Title clash between Sheffield’s own Dalton Smith versus (19-2) Walid Ouizza, Dalton Smith coming off a fifth round KO win over former World Title contender, Jose Zepeda, a win for Dalton sets up an imminent title shot later this year. Featuring on the undercard is arguably a FOTN contender. ‘Horrible’ Harry Scarff takes on the fan friendly all-action Conah Walker. Former British champ Scarff is coming of a competitive decision defeat to Karen Chukhadzhian in a World Title eliminator. Further down the bill is a unified IBF,IBO & WBO World Title bout in the Super-Bantamweight women’s division, Ellie Scotney takes on fellow undefeated star Mea Motu over ten two minute rounds. Three of Matchrooms brightest prospects finish off the card with Ibraheem Sulaimaan, Hamza Uddin and Traie Duberry featuring.
Diego Pacheco vs Steven Nelson – The Preview
Then continuing on the same broadcast, it moves to Las Vegas. The main event sees (22-0) Diego Pacheco takes on fellow undefeated (20-0) Steven Nelson in a grudge matchup in the Super-Middleweight division. Pacheco coming off a career best win with a sixth round KO of Maciej Sulecki. Nelson coming of a KO too, in which he picked up on the Crawford-Madrimov Riyadh Season card. Chief support of the night is the Cuban superstar Andy Cruz taking a massive test versus (20-1) Omar Gamez over ten rounds. Cruz just four fights into his career but a win tonight sees him reach closer to that inevitable world title shot. Also on the card is (16-0) Ernesto Mercado taking on (29-6-1) Jose Pedraza over ten rounds. Further down the card sees new singing Nishant Dev feature, new singing Zaquin Moses alongside Leonardo Rubalcava and Harley Mederos.
Tonight is a big night for Matchroom and a statement of intent of what’s to come in the near future, all the action begins live on DAZN from 7pm BST.
