The new PFL Europe head of fighter developments Dan Hardy is almost certain Francis Ngannou will sign for the PFL ‘in no time’.
Ngannou left his former promotion the UFC, under a dark cloud. Unable to come to terms with the higher-ups regarding numerous contractual stipulations, including pay. ‘The Predator’ walked away from the promotion, despite being the reigning heavyweight champion.
It didn’t take the rumour mill long to start churning out speculation as to what was next for Ngannou. As the UFC set about crowning a new champion even sooner. Setting up a mammoth showdown, pitting Jon Jones against Ciryl Gane for UFC 285.
Both before and after the UFC 285 bout, which was won by Jones. UFC president Dana White would diminish the accomplishments and character of Ngannou at every given opportunity.
The rest of the MMA world saw this as a huge loss for the company. As the potential opportunities for ‘The Predator’ began opening up. With boxing, bare-knuckle, Bellator and the PFL all in contention to snatch the signature of the Cameroonian.
Dan Hardy Believes Francis Ngannou is PFL Bound “I Just Know He’s Coming”
Speaking with Mike Owens for Middle Easy. Hardy, who had his own egregious separation from Dana White’s company, shares his reasoning as to why he believes the signing of Ngannou is imminent.
“We’ll have Francis Ngannou in no time coming over and fighting for it,” Hardy continued. “I just feel it in my bones, I know he’s coming, I just know he’s coming, I can just feel it. It makes sense. His demands for the UFC is exactly what the PFL are offering. So everything that he was asking for from the UFC, it’s already on the table over here as long as the money’s on the table alongside to match the heavyweight king’s purse, then I think you’ll be happy and I think we can certainly do that for him.”
Most recently the huge heavyweight added massive fuel to the fire. On an appearance on Ariel Helwani’s MMA hour. Ngannou would state the name of both ONE FC and the PFL as potential destinations. Only furthering the words spoken by Hardy.
