Nearly three months ago UFC lightweight, Dan Hooker, went to war in his Fight of the Night split decision victory against Jalin Turner. The fan-favourite lightweight suffered a fractured orbital bone in addition to a broken arm that required surgery. Now fully healed and medically cleared, Hooker now aims for his return to the UFC Octagon.
Dan Hooker is Back
“All clear from the Doc, let’s party,” Hooker shared on X.
‘The Hangman’ hit a rough patch that saw him lose to the divisional elite in Dustin Poirier, Islam Makhachev and Michael Chandler. In addition, Hooker’s failed return to featherweight casted many doubters upon the New Zealander. Hooker silenced the naysayers with two straight wins against Claudio Puelles and Jalin Turner.
Now Hooker heads into his planning phase on a two-fight win streak with hopes of climbing the ranks once again, frankly, it’s the only thing keeping the 33 year old competing at the highest level.
Lightweight Reaction to Dan Hookers Return
A couple of fellow lightweights have come out of the shadows to throw their names in the hat.
“Who wants to watch that fight?!” Renato Moicano said on X.
Ahead of his scheduled bout against Bobby Green, Grant Dawson also eyes a potential fight against Dan Hooker with a win.
“Obviously I’m only focused on Bobby Green, but after Bobby Green, we’re looking to fight against Dan Hooker,” Dawson told MMA Junkie.
