Dan Hooker calls for Dana White to allow him to compete on the upcoming Power Slap League pay-per-view.
White’s controversial project launched on January 18th on TSB. The approximate viewership was around 295,000.
The UFC President has been using the UFC’s platform and social media accounts to market the ‘Power Slap League’, which has aggravated the mixed martial arts fanbase. The majority of the fighters and fans seem to be against it. However, one man who’s all in his New Zealand’s, Hooker.
Last month, Hooker took to Twitter to reveal his thoughts:
“SLAP is my new favorite show.”
“It’s like fighting but we skip the bulls**t and get straight to the knockouts.”
The 32-year-old has had a rough ride in the Octagon lately. He returned to the win column in November of last year, defeating Claudio Puelles at UFC 281 via TKO. Before that, he had lost four of his last five to the hands of Dustin Poirier, Michael Chandler, Islam Makhachev, and Arnold Allen at featherweight.
Hooker was scheduled to face Jailin Turner at UFC 285 on March 4th, but an unfortunate hand break has forced him to withdraw.
Despite being sidelined and in a cast, Hooker is already plotting his next move…and it’s not inside the Octagon.
Once again taking to Twitter, Hooker said:
“@danawhite I have an idea
Me vs Turner Power Slap
Show/win and I’m in for the PPV.”
