Dan Hooker “hates” Edson Barboza and hopes to run it back with the Brazilian if he ever decides to put back up to the lightweight division.
The pair fought six years ago with Barboza securing a third round stoppage after dominating Hooker in the first two rounds.
Hooker also spoke about how a potential fight could be in the making if Bobby Green beats Jim Miller at UFC 300 this weekend.
Dan Hooker vows to Make Edson Barboza Pay
Speaking on the Free Stylebender YouTube channel Hooker said; “F*** Edson Barboza, if he ever wants to fight again.”
“I’ll kick his f****** chin off.”
“Every couple of months I message him ‘f*** you’. If you (Barboza) ever want to come back to lightweight I’ll knock your teeth out.”
“I hate him because he beat the s*** out of me, of course I’m upset about it.”
After Barboza beat Dan Hooker back in 2018, the Brazilian suffered consecutive defats which resulted him moving down the featherweight division.
With Barboza not seeming to come back to the lightweight division any soon, it could result in Hooker having to concede defeat in his effort to rematch the Brazilian.
What Next for Hooker?
After beating Jalin Turner back at UFC 290, ‘The Hangman’ was scheduled to fight in December against Bobby Green but a reoccurring hand injury ruled the Kiwi out of the fight.
With the Kiwi on a two fight win streak, it is a huge contrast after a difficult spell of losses cast doubts on his position and future within the UFC
Hooker said; “I’ll fight him if Bobby Green beats Jim (Miller) at UFC 300 and he gets on that microphone (and calls me out)”
“I’ll fight him.”
“It doesn’t make sense for the rankings which I don’t give a f*** about the rankings anyway but I feel I owe that one to the fans.”
“We can fight at International Fight Week in June.”
