Dan Hooker is always exciting when he steps foot inside the Octagon. With so many memorable wars, including ones with Dustin Poirier and Paul Felder, it is noticeable when a top talent like Dan Hooker is on the shelf.
Hooker sat down with Sky Sports New Zealand, giving a time frame for fans who were wondering about a return.
“I’ll be able to get back into the gym in the next couple of weeks and be training at 100 percent. I have my eyes on June, the June International Fight Week. I fought on the last International Fight Week so that would be a full, I think that would be 11 months come June,” Hooker said.
With him being 100% back in training, Dan Hooker has his eyes set on two fun fights. Rafael Fiziev or Renato Moicano; both of which would be fun, exciting fights. With call outs of two dangerous opponents, you know Hooker is ready for a serious comeback.
Dan Hooker vs. Rafael Fiziev or Renato Moicano?
Hooker could be back in the hunt for a title if he could get a fight with Rafael Fiziev. It’s a smart fight to take and makes sense going forward in the rankings. If Hooker could come back and stop a danger at lightweight in Rafael Fiziev, he would be in prime position.
Renato Moicano is an exciting matchup entertainment-wise, as fans would go wild for a fight like this. With skill sets that have no quit, a win for either man gets the eyes on them to possibly be discussed as a title challenger.
“We will see. I always look at the rankings and go who does no one want to fight? I think Fiziev, no one wants to fight Fiziev, so who has probably done enough to put his hand up for that fight, the guy over here,” Hooker said. “There are a lot of exciting fights, Moicano is coming off a big win, I think I can get that fight in a heartbeat. I’d be happy with that Moicano fight, it’s an exciting fight and he’s won me over as a fan.”
