Dan Hooker has revealed to his fans as to when he is next able to fight.
Hooker also revealed his dissatisfaction at the P4P rankings.
The Kiwi also spoke about his prediction for the UFC 308 main event.
Dan Hooker either Wants January/March 2025 Fight
Dan Hooker has had an interesting career so far with 24 wins and 12 losses professionally. Hooker is battle tested having shared the Octagon with Islam Makhachev, Dustin Poirier, and Michael Chandler. A battle-tested warrior Hooker is on a three-fight win streak with the goal of putting himself in title contention in 2025.
Speaking to Helen Yee after Bare Knuckle Championship in Spain Hooker said; “I’m good to go January or March 2025. The Mrs is due in February so no can go I’ve got a little girl on the way. I would even turn down a fight with McGregor in February to be there with my wife. I’m not missing that.”
With Dustin Poirier teasing a four-man tournament for the BMF title Dan Hooker revealed it was something he was interested in. Albeit, the UFC have never done something like this before Hooker revealed that it would excite him to fight twice in one night.
Hooker also spoke to his fans and said: “ I can’t wait to get back into the action. Next year you will see me back in that cage it will be another car crash year.”
Who Is P4P Best Fighter in the UFC?
With the debate raging over who is the best fighter in the UFC across all divisions, Dan Hooker gave his thoughts on the matter. The Kiwi fighter also revealed that the P4P rankings don’t make any sense to him at all. Hooker said: “Are we going to shrink a guy or grow a guy? Jon Jones is the pound for pound because he’s the biggest. If you were to put the same people in the same room Jon Jones leaves with his hand raised.”
“The biggest guy will win the fight. If we put Jones in with Islam Makhachev Jones will win. Are we going to grow one or shrink another? I don’t know how that will look. It is completely a hypothetical thing. The heavyweights will beat up everyone in the other weight classes.”
Dan Hooker Predicts UFC 308 Winners
With Ilia Topuria set to defend his featherweight belt against Max Holloway Hooker gave his prediction. Topuria who beat Dan Hooker’s good friend Alex Volkanovski to win the belt looks set to make his inaugural title defence. Meanwhile, Max Holloway is off a breathtaking knockout over Justin Gaethje.
Dan Hooker said; “It is a tough fight to predict it can go either way. Ilia has a good punch on him, I think the experience of Max will be hard to get by.” Hooker also revealed his excitement about Khamzat Chimeav vs Robert Whittaker. The Kiwi vowed not to predict anything too soon as the fight is cursed and keeps getting pushed back.
