Former UFC lightweight contender Dan Hooker still holds the same goal of eventually becoming a UFC champion, despite losing both of his last outings.
Hooker’s most recent losses came against current UFC lightweight champion Islam Makhachev and number 6 ranked featherweight contender Arnold Allen.
Just one month after beating Nasrat Haqparast, Hooker stepped in for an injured Rafael Dos Anjos at UFC 267 to face Islam Makhachev. He was quickly taken down by Makhachev and then submitted via kimura.
The following year in March, Dan made a move down to the featherweight division to take on Arnold Allen. Allen was able to grab a TKO victory in round 1, putting Hooker on a two-fight skid.
Dan Hooker Only Interested in Capturing UFC Gold
Dan recently spoke with Submission Radio ahead of his clash with Claudio Puelles at UFC 281.
“You will not see me compete in the UFC if the objective is not a world title.”
“I’m not interested in anything else, I’m not interested in the money, nothing else interests me except having the belt.”
“The belt means you’re the best fighter in the world. When I lose sight of that I really have no interest in fighting.”
‘The Hangman’ has shown how good of a skillset he has in the past, with wins over Paul Felder, Al Iaquinta and Gilbert Burns.
