Dana White’s Plan to Never Retire Brings UFC Fans Joy
Dana White recently revealed that he doesn’t have any plans to retire from the fight promotion game. At just 55 years young, White has taken the mixed martial arts brand from “human cock fighting” to business with Floyd Mayweather. White’s company [UFC] has produced some of the greatest MMA names of the time. To name a handful, Matt Hughes, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Georges St-Pierre, and Jon Jones. Add those names to a 4 billion dollar sale of the UFC in July of 2016, and it begs the question, why is Dana White still in the fight game?
Dana White Tells Tucker Carlson He Will Never Retire Ever
In an interview with Tucker Carlson, White addressed his retirement,
“I will never retire. Ever. I will keep dogging this out until the day I drop dead. I love it, 100 percent.”
Most of the fight world thought White would call it quits after the $4 billion sale of UFC. Who wouldn’t call it a career after beating the odds and becoming the boss of their own company? One year shy of a decade later White is proving them all wrong as he is set to be cage side at UFC 312 this Saturday.
“When we sold in 2016, 99% of the people said that I was going to retire and walk away. I’m not wired like that. I’m still out building new brands and doing s*** that I don’t need to be doing. But I do it because I love it. You know how many people in a sale like mine in 2016, you never see that guy again? They’re done!” White finished.
From Donald Trump‘s affiliate to Meta Board Member, White has a few titles, along with being the UFC CEO and now founder of the American slap-fighting league Power Slap.
White Intends to Attend Events Well Into His 80’s
Imitation is the greatest form of flattery, they say, as Dana White plans to copycat the movements of bitter rival Bob Arum. At 93 years of age, Arum has earned the respect of White while also attracting his animosity all at the same time. White openly admits that Arum gained his admiration for his relentless work ethic for a man his age.
“I hate him, but you got to respect it, right? How can you not respect that? White told Carslon about the boxing promoter.
