UFC president Dana White has dealt with some unique characters in his time as the boss of the Ultimate Fighting Championship. White revealed three of the most ‘intimidating’ fighters that have worked under him.
White has had a significant role in the growth of mixed martial arts over the last ten years. When you hear the name ‘UFC’, White is one of the first images you picture in your head.
Although labelled the greatest promoter in the world, the fighters past and present are what’s turned the global phenomenon into what it is today.
In the sports existence, household names have gone and gone. Fighters have made truckloads of cash and set themselves up for life with the draw they possessed. Many critics from outside of the sport still label MMA as ‘barbaric’ and ‘crazy’ without knowing some of the athletes that compete inside the cage are some of the most intelligent and switched-on men and women in the world.
That being said, the sport does consist of some incredibly scary individuals with uneasy backstories into the sport.
White recently took to Paddy Pimblett’s podcast, Chattin Pony, to discuss who he feels are the scariest fighters he worked with in his time being a promoter.
Dana White Reveals His Scariest Fighters in the UFC
“Always when you’re fucking around with the heavyweights, like Derrick Lewis,” White said. “When Derrick Lewis comes to a staredown, the only thing that makes him even a little bit not scary is that he actually has a sense of humor. He’s funny sometimes. But, god forbid you get in there with Derrick Lewis and he doesn’t like the other fighter. I was in between him and another guy one time at the faceoff, and I started trying to stop him. I might as well not f***ing be there.
“Jon Jones is one of those guys too. Jon Jones is a freak of nature. One of the scariest guys and intimidating dudes right now is [Alex] Pereira. When you look at the guy he looks like a stone-cold fucking killer. Off the top of my head, those are the three that come to mind.”
