UFC CEO Dana White has once again slammed the idea of Jake Paul facing the UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira in a boxing fight. Dana White even went as far as questioning if a commission would even allow the fight to happen.
Dana White Dismisses Idea of Jake Paul Against Alex Pereira
Alex Pereira is the current UFC Light heavyweight champion and was able to clinch the title by defeating Jiří Procházka. This was due to a 2nd round stoppage due to a left hook into hammer fists and elbows. Alex Pereira has been able to go to defend the title twice once against Jamahall Hill and the other once against Jiri. Alex Pereira has been a star in the UFC since arriving back in 2021. He has been able to come up with a record of 8-1 and be able to clinch both the light heavyweight title as well as the middleweight title.
On the other side of this potential fight is Jake Paul. Jake has left his social media content behind and has turned to boxing being able to come up with an impressive 10-1 record. His only loss came against Tommy Fury due to a split decision back in February 2023. Jake was able to defeat former UFC fighter Mike Perry in the 6th round back on July 20th and has defeated other UFC fighters Nate Diaz, Jorge Masvidal, Anderson Silva, Tyrone Woodley and Ben Askren. Paul will re-enter the ring in November when he faces off against Mike Tyson. Jake Paul even went as far as after his last victory calling out the current UFC light heavyweight champion.
Dana White was not a fan of this idea and it sounds like he will not allow this fight to take place. Speaking about this fight taking place Dana White said;
“I wonder if the commission would even let that f***ing fight happen… [Alex] would kick [Jake’s] f***cking head into another planet…..”
“[Jake] calls people out for attention… [Alex] sells 400 times the f***ing PPVs. The Jake Paul fight that just happened didn’t sell any f***ing PPV”
Only Fighting Retired MMA Fighters
Some people have questioned if Jake Paul could actually survive a proper fighter due to how many former MMA fighters he has faced. The only actual boxer he has faced during his time in the ring was Tommy Fury. While the fight was close Jake Paul wasn’t able to come out with the victory and would end up losing the fight. Since the fight, he has fought MMA fighter Nate Diaz and former UFC fighter and BKFC fighter Mike Perry. He has also fought against Andre August and Ryan Bourland.
