Daniel Cormier advises Michael Chandler to not give up on the Conor McGregor fight.
Chandler and McGregor were the two stars in this years edition of ‘The Ultimate Fighter‘. The two coaches were then set to fight later on this year, in a potential bout for the ages.
The fight has yet not been booked, and with recent news from the McGregor camp, it may not happen.
McGregor has been all over the news in recent weeks, but seemingly for all the wrong reasons. The first controversial media publicity came at a Miami Heat basketball match, which the second would also take place. McGregor was there to do a ‘skit’ where the Irishman would appear to knock out the mascot. This escalated to McGregor injuring the mascot, appearing to knock the mascot unconscious resulting in a hospital trip.
The other is unfortunately a rape accusation but with no verdict, this is not something to comment further on for the potential protection of both sides.
After all this happened, McGregor was still not apart of the USADA doping tests. To participate in the UFC, you need to be in this at least six months before any potential fight. McGregor had a deadline of submission for June 16th, which he has now missed. This has ruled out any bout he can have this year, with his return delayed until at least 2024.
Daniel Cormier Has Some Advice for Michael Chandler
Chandler posted a video on Twitter, telling everyone that McGregor has not entered the USADA drug testing. He also uses the opportunity to have a sly dig at McGregor with the caption “WHERE DA F**K IS THAT GUY”.
Cormier has posted his thoughts on this situation to his YouTube channel. The former double champion has told Chandler “don’t let the fight fall by the wayside”. He has also been honest with saying he is not sure what Chandler can do. “I guess just kind of talking sh*t to him may help” Cormier then went on to say.
It would appear Chandler has taken this advice on. Chandler on his recent ‘TUF31’ recap show has stated he will “murder him (McGregor) on the ground”. Chandler then displayed knowledge of his potential opponent with stating his strong points, displaying he is yet to give up hope on this fight.
