Daniel Cormier reveals crazy pre-fight superstitions
Many fighter have pre-fight superstitions some may alter their training others may have a specific diet they follow every fight camp. However Daniel Cormier spoke out and revealed some of his pre-fight rituals. The former champion said; “I tried to recreate that caveman s*** in me every fight. Abstain from sex for like a month. Don’t eat past like 2 pm in the afternoon.”
Literally just starving because when you’re hungry your mind goes to a place like, ‘If I had to go and kill something to eat right now, I would do it’. You can put yourself in almost a caveman mind set where you take all the pleasures of life that we as men love so much.
“Food, women, those things that you take it away from yourself and by the time you get in there with that dude you’re like, ‘Yo! You’re the reason I didn’t get to do this. You’re the reason I’m hungry
Tom Aspinall also revealed a pre-fight ritual he was doing before his title defence to Curtis Blaydes where he soaked his knuckles in petrol. Whilst many fans were quick to label it as out of the ordinary Aspinall revealed it was a prank all along.
An underrated UFC Legend
Daniel Cormier is an underrated UFC legend with the amount of disrespect that gets put on his name. The American lost to Jon Jones and Stipe Miocic in his entire UFC career and was a double champion. Blessed with incredible wrestling that was honed throughout his college years Cormier rose through the ranks of the UFC.
After securing the light heavyweight championship, Daniel Cormier wanted more and challenged Stipe Miocic who he defeated in the first round back in 2018. However, following consecutive losses to Miocic, Daniel Cormier announced his retirement from the sport.
