Daniel Dubois has called out Oleksandr Usyk in a recent interview with Boxnation_TV.
The IBF champion Daniel Dubois has been on a tear since losing to Uysk in 2023, beating Jarell Miller and Filip Hrgovic in fights where he was considered a large underdog.
Dubois also took his stardom to a new level last year by destroying Anthony Joshua at a sold out Wembley Stadium.
Daniel Dubois will look to become undisputed and take revenge on Uysk in 2025 calling out the former Cruiserweight champion.
“It’s about time, someone’s gotta put a stop to it. When that time comes, I’ll be ready for him… He got lucky last time, next time he won’t be lucky. I’m too much for him.”
Dubois has been very vocal about his dislike of how the twos fight ended.
The first bout ended in a Uysk TKO but Dubois had caught Usyk in round 5 with a body shot which was controversially called a low blow.
Daniel Dubois did also bid to get the result overturned but the bid was rejected by the WBA.
Despite Dubois being adamant he wants this fight it looks Uysk has his sights set on a return to the cruiserweight division in attempt to become two time undisputed.
“I think maybe after the rematch, I am going to go down in weight to cruiserweight. I want more [fights at] cruiserweight,” Usyk told the ‘3 Knockdown Rule’ , external podcast.
Daniel Dubois Might Not Catch Usyk At The Right Time-
Usyk claims his weight gain is too hard and all he does is eat.
“Maybe I can be undisputed for a second time in the cruiserweight division, it’s my plan. When I start to prepare for my training camp [as a heavyweight], I have to eat all the time. For me it’s hard, I don’t like it.”
Before a potential undisputed fight for Dubois he has to take on Joseph Parker, his IBF voluntary, `on February 22nd.
Parker has also been on a tear beating the once feared and avoided; Deontay Wilder and Zhilei Zhang as a major underdog.
Usyk will most likely wait until the results of Jai Opetaia vs David Nyika and Daniel Dubois Vs Joseph Parker before making a decision on his next step.
