Daniel Dubois has welcomed a potential fight with Heavyweight prospect Moses Itauma.
In a recent exclusive interview with The Ring, Daniel expressed his happiness about taking on the budding prospect.
“I’ve done a few rounds with the kid. He’s lightning, isn’t he? We’re gonna see, it’s a good match-up for the future. To be the first man to stop him, I like the sound of that. Line ’em up.”
Although a bout between Daniel Dubois and Itauma would be great, it will have to wait until after February 22nd, when Dubois will have to face a tough opponent in Joseph Parker.
Daniel Dubois has been quick to call people out since his fight with Parker was announced, even getting in the ring after Usyk Fury 2 called Usyk for the rematch.
Despite multiple callouts, Daniel Dubois is adamant that he’s not overlooking the Aussie powerhouse.
“It’s all about making noise This is show business. So that’s who i want next. First I gotta get through this guy so that was about making noise.
(That’s not you overlooking Joe Parker.)
No way I’m gonna do a demolition job on him first, and then i want Uysk next. I’m ready for it and I’m on a roll. So you know bring them on.”
It seems like Daniel Dubois has the world at his feet and, outside of Usyk, he has the biggest draw in heavyweight boxing. At least for other fighters.
Daniel Dubois Vs Anthony Joshua 2?
Dubois has also mentioned the rematch between him and Anthony Joshua as a potential fight but says Joshua and his team have gone quiet.
“They’ve gone quiet, they’ve gone missing. Eddie Hearn usually has a lot to say but he’s gone quiet too. I’ve been humbling everyone.
What else can I say? He don’t want it, does he?”
Although Daniel Dubois wants this fight it could be a little while before seeing this battle between Dubois and Itauma.
Moses Itauma is in talks to fight Matchroom’s own Justis Huni.
Eddie Hearn mentioned this last week in Jai Opetaia’s fight build-up.
“Moses Itauma vs Justis Huni is being discussed to potentially take place this year, Hearn added that he believes the fight could be for the WBO ‘interim’ belt due to Itauma and Huni’s high positions in the WBO heavyweight rankings.”
