Interview With Daniel Skibiński
Few weeks out from your second appearance under Cage Warriors. How have things been for you since your last bout with Justin Burlinson at Cage Warriors 135?
After the last fight, I had to rest for a while, analyze my defeat, and prepare an action plan. The proposal for another fight came quickly, and from the beginning of May, I started the preparations for the fight.
In the fight with Burlinson, the result didn’t go your way, but it was a memorable fight for the fans. Did you take any positives away from the fight despite not getting the victory?
Yes, definitely. I drew conclusions from my last loss, and now I’m a better fighter.
Daniel Skibiński Talks Last Bout
Overall, what do you feel went wrong in that fight, and what measures have you taken this camp to ensure you find yourself back to winning ways?
First of all, I lost all of my energy in the first round. In the second, I was already dead. That day I was definitely weaker than my opponent. Yet, now I know why and what went wrong. I don’t want to share any details, but I can say that the problem has been already fixed, and I am ready to conquer the Octagon.
Is there a sense of pressure on your shoulders leading into a fight after dropping the last two? Or does it add more fuel to the fire?
I don’t feel any extra pressure. Every fight is important to me, and I always go there to win.
July 22nd, Cage Warriors 141. What can fans in attendance expect to see from Daniel Skibinski?
I feel amazing, and I promise that I will transform into the best version of myself.
Prep for Jimmy Wallhead
Has it been difficult to prepare for Wallhead due to the fact he’s been out for several years, as he might bring a different look or add new techniques to his arsenal?
I don’t know why he had such a break and how it will affect his performance. All I know is that I had to focus on myself and turn on my beast mode.
You meet an experienced Jim Wallhead on fight night. What were your initial thoughts when offered the matchup, and do you feel this is a good fight for you? If so, how?
Yes, he is very experienced. He is a good fighter, and I am at such a stage in my career that I only want to fight with great fighters. I have started following him since his fight against Mafal Moks at Wembley Arena. Therefore, I accepted this challenge right away. I am really satisfied with that matchup.
Wallhead has been out of competition since 2019, whereas you have remained active throughout that period. Do you believe his long haul of inactivity will play a factor on July 22nd?
Honestly? I do not care about that. As I said, I’m ready for anything, I feel great, and during CW 141, I will show what I can really do.
Where are the keys to defeating Jimmy Wallhead at Cage Warriors 131? Where do you believe you have the edge after studying some old tape?
I believe I have the skills to beat Jimmy Wallhead, I am a better fighter, and I will prove that during CW 141.
