Daniil Hebenton is coming into his mixed martial arts amateur debut a confident individual.
This Saturday, at the Dunfermline Glen Pavilion, Hebenton will take on Callum Hobson at Goliath Fight Series 5. The Scottish-based promotion’s schedule continues to plough on after back-to-back successful shows.
Prior to his first walk as an MMA fighter, we had the chance to catch up with Daniil Hebenton. Hear what he had to say below.
Interview With Daniil Hebenton
Daniil, a few days out from your official debut. Talk to us about how you got here and how excited you are to make the walk for the first time in MMA.
Fighting has always been something that has caught my eye, so i am somewhat excited for the opportunity to make my debut.
You’ve been active as of later after taking on a kickboxing bout on Budo FC. Although it’s a different discipline, what can you take from that kickboxing bout that you hope to take into Saturday night?
Kickboxing is definitely is a different discipline, but it has taught me that I can stay stoic when I step in the cage and perform at my best while the spotlight is on.
With Saturday night being the first time you’ve made the walk to the cage, it’s a daunting task, and some guys can be too hard on themselves. With that said, what expectations have you laid down for yourself?
Stepping in the cage can be daunting as you put, I completely agree, but i understand the work that I’ve put in was not for nothing, and it will certainly not go unnoticed so i do hold high expectation to my performance.
Danill Hebenton Talks Callum Hobson
Callum Hobson is the man you face. Given he’s made his debut, do you know anything about him or the gym he comes from?
No I don’t know much about Callum, his experience, advantages or performance when it comes down to the night isn’t a variable I can dictate, so my goal has been to focus more on myself and make sure I’m in line physically and mentally, with a clear focus.
Finally, let the fans know why they should stay seated to watch you compete next Saturday.
And lastly, performance speaks louder than words, I carry a lot of explosiveness, the fight can finish whenever I decide to capitalise.
