Another addition to the ever-growing and impressive Bellator Dublin card is here. Dante Schiro will take on Luca Poclit in a welterweight clash. Headlined by Benson Henderson vs Peter Queally, this addition only bolsters the card and makes Bellator 285 on September 23rd even better.
Dante Schiro
Making his third appearance in the organisation’s current Bellator record sits at 1-1. His loss came to current interim welterweight champion Logan Storley in a close split decision. However, he bounced back well and defeats Scott Hee via TKO in the third round, and now looks to make it two wins in a row.
His overall professional record sits at 9-3, he also has an impressive 6-1 record as an amateur. Of his pro wins only one has been via the judges as he holds four KO/TKO wins and four via submission. Proving he can mix it up the 28-year-old looks to hit his prime with a win.
Luca Poclit
The man trying to stop him will be the surging Luca Poclit. Making his Bellator debut, Luca honed his craft in the Eagles FC promotion where he claimed welterweight gold. The Moldovan currently trains out of SBG Ireland, which is one of the most notorious gyms in all of MMA.
At 32, Luca enters Bellator in what many believe to be an athlete’s prime. 7-1 as a pro, he is currently riding a seven-fight winning streak which has seen him finish all but two of his opponents. Four submissions and one TKO have Luca down as a very dangerous opponent. He’ll be looking to prove this and make his debut with a bang.
The Fight
A top European prospect who has held gold vs an American who has gone the distance with some of the best. This fight will be a close contest and well worth watching. Once again the matchmakers have done a great job, and Bellator 285 continues to look great fight after fight.
Available to watch in the UK and Ireland via BBC iPlayer make sure you tune in come September 23rd.
