Darren Stewart makes his Cage Warriors return on July 22nd in London. He will take on CW regular Mick Stanton in a match-up that can only produce fireworks. Darren will look to bounce back after leaving the UFC and Cage Warriors is the perfect place for him to do so.
Darren “The Dentist” Stewart
The London-born Stewart had a tough run in the UFC, but stood his ground and rarely took a backwards step. With a record of 12-8, many might overlook the abilities of the 31-year-old, but they shouldn’t. As tough as they come Stewart has shown his abilities as both a KO artist and a competent grappler.
Of his 12 wins, seven have come by way of knockout, which is no surprise as he packs a punch. Another four by decision and a lone submission win complete his resume. Fighting in the promotion in a one-off appearance in March 2020, he has returned to the company full time and will look to make a run for middleweight gold as soon as possible.
Mick “The Huyton Hammer” Stanton
Another fan favourite Mick is the perfect person to reintroduce Darren to the Cage Warriors ring. Another man who is also competent wherever the fight ends up, Stantons’s record currently sits at 8-6. At 35, a win over Darren could propel his career onto the next level.
Riding a two-fight winning streak, both fights ended with second-round Knockouts. Stanton is in great form and hopes this continues as he takes in arguably his toughest test to date.
The Fight
Already one hell of a card this fight adds another barn burner to an already action-packed card. On the eve of UFC London, Cage Warriors 141 is looking to steal that weekend’s spotlight, and they might just do it. Two men who are willing to go to absolute war, make sure you’re watching. Available to watch via UFC Fight Pass, which can be purchased for £6.99 on a monthly subscription.
Does Darren Stewart win on his return or does Mick Stanton ruin the party?
