As the countdown to his return to the cage inches closer, Dave Jones is gearing up for an intense battle against Ash Walters at Almighty FC 35 in Deeside, Wales.
“I’m in a good place to be honest, camps gone well and I’m looking forward to getting in there and showing where I’m at.”
Reflecting on his journey, Dave shares his resilient mindset, fuelled by a desire to compete and prove himself in the professional arena.
“I actually only wanted one pro fight to just say I’ve done it. And then go into coaching full time but I keep getting lured back! The streak doesn’t really bother me, when you look at the calibre of opponent I’ve thought, almost all on short notice, I’m confident with a full camp I can give most people a good scrap.”
Dave Jones Looking for Hometown Win at Almighty FC 35
Facing Ash Walters, Dave acknowledges the challenge ahead but remains determined to give his all and secure the victory.
“Ive looked at Ash (obviously) and he seems decent in all areas. Long, a rangey guy, can strike, can wrestle. It’s going to be interesting. If he’s better than me I’ll shake his hand and have a beer with him afterwards but I’m going to do everything I can to pick up this win. I don’t care how I do it, but I’ve pushed myself too hard this camp to not give 100%.”
For Dave, a win on home turf would be a significant milestone, symbolizing his dedication and perseverance in the sport.
“It would mean a lot to pick up the win in my home town! I’m so glad almighty have been coming to Deeside the past few years, gives me extra motivation to train and keep going. I haven’t got many left so I just want to enjoy the moment, perform to my best and hope that’s enough.”
