David Adeleye defeats Jeamie TKV in a very controversial technical knockout victory on Queensbury Dazn debut.
British heavyweight champion David Adeleye got a major win against fellow British foe Jeamie TKV.
The result has been showered in controversy.
The TKO victory came in the 6th round of a potential 12th but the smashing left hand was after referee Ron Kearney called for the fighters to break.
Kearny called for both fighters to break after some grappling even touching the hand of TKV by pushing it down.
The controversy didn’t stop there as TKV was reprimanded earlier in the bout for punching after the referee called for a break.
It gets even worse considering the fight was very competitive up until the TKO.
The controversy has caused a huge uproar in the boxing world and a lot of backlash for Kearny with many claiming he shouldn’t have touched the boxer.
David Adeleye Is Under Fire-
This incident has caused many from the boxing world to have there say including both trainers of the two fighters.
First was Adam Booth who has claimed both incidents were given the same treatment “Just for context…. The Ref calls ‘Break’ twice and a punch is thrown… @DAZNBoxing“
TKV has been working from Ben Davidson’s performance centre with Barry Smith.
Davidson doesn’t quite seem to see eye to eye with Booth quoting the above tweet with.
“For more context… 1 was legal 1 was disciplined 1 was rewarded Jeamie TKV and Barry smith were well on their way to victory last night. Claims that a stoppage was getting closer are a fallacy! A fighter fatiguing (as being claimed) and the other getting closer to a stoppage usually presents itself as the margin between them tends to narrow as rounds go on, TKV was picking up rounds by larger margins as the fight was unfolding! A fighter can not be rewarded for directly disobeying the referees orders/an illegal blow (no matter how much you try to justify it!) I fully expect the result to be overturned!”
Promoter Ben Shalom sees the same way that Davidson did saying “it has to be OVERTURNED. One of the worst decisions I’ve ever seen” on a IFL TV interview.
Either way Adeleye has retained his British Heavyweight title and will look to move on straight onto bigger opportunities.
TKV on the other hand will look to get the decision reversed to a potential no contest or get a immediate rematch with Adeleye.
