Sean Strickland Cipples a Fan in Sparring Rematch From UFC 297
Sean Strickland has been his usual entertaining self during UFC 312 fight week. The very same weekend Stickland is set to rematch current middleweight champion Dricus Du Plessis. UFC 312 Du Plessis vs Strickland is the rematch for the middleweight world title, a championship won by split decision. Before Tarzan [Strickland] could get to his championship rematch. Strickland found himself in a UFC 297 open workout rematch with an Australian fan one year in the making.
Strickland Set for Two rematches at UFC 312
One year after Strickland’s split decision loss to Du Plessis he has the opportunity to win two rematches in one fight week. Sean ‘Tarzan’ Strickland not only has the chance to win his title back but also finish a familiar sparring partner. In an open workout sparring session for UFC 312 fight week, Strickland rematched an Australian striker who impressed Strickland the first time they faced off. During the sparring session, both men landed good combinations on each other. As Strickland began to gain momentum and draw bigger reactions out of the Aussie he started to taunt. Playfully he goaded the dangerous Australian to hit him causing Strickland’s Dance partner to overextend some punches. Eventually, Strickland found himself in the perfect position to land the finishing blow.
Strickland Victorious During UFC 312 Open Workout
As Strickland fans his Aussie Counter part playfully waged war. Strckalands taunting and pop shots began to frustrate his opponent. The more punches Tarzan landed on his opponent the more smack talk he bellowed. The Australian challenger desperately tried to keep up with the pace of Strickland who seemed to be enjoying himself at this point. That’s when disaster struck a perfectly placed body shot landed for Strickland sending the Australian to one knee. Gasping for air and training to work his way back to a standing position.
Eric Nicksick Stops the UFC 312 Sparring Session
After Strickland gave his opponent a moment to recover from the liver shot. The friendly sparr continued with the Australian still feeling the effects of taking such a blow. Strick and the Australian exchanged a few more blows before Coach Eric Nicksick called a stop to the bout. A mercy influencer Sneako did not get the pleasure of experiencing. During a hard sparr with Strickland Sneako found himself on the receiving end of some horrific punches causing onlookers to throw in the towel. Hoping he can replicate such a finish on Saturday night at UFC 312. Strickland now sets his complete focus on getting the finish against Du Plessis ensuring UFC 312 will not disappoint!
