Demetrious Johnson is one of the greatest fighters ever to step foot in an octagon and has an exceptional knowledge of the sport. On Saturday, Logan Paul and Dillon Danis will finally go toe to toe inside a boxing ring as they look to put their bad blood to the test. There are many different opinions on how the fight will play out, and when speaking on his podcast, the Mightycast, Johnson gave his thoughts on the contest.
Demetrious Johnson On Dillon Danis Vs Logan Paul
Johnson has a fantastic legacy in the sport of MMA. He carried the UFC flyweight division on his back for many years and beat many notable names throughout his run with the MMA juggernaut. Johnson is a former UFC flyweight champion and is the current ONE flyweight champion. It is safe to say he knows what he’s discussing regarding fighting. Speaking on his podcast, he gave his thoughts on Danis versus Paul.
“We’re so invested because Dillon is one of me, right? He is a mixed martial artist, and he comes from that background. Danis is a martial artist, whereas Logan Paul is an entertainer, right? He’s a fantastic wrestler.
I love watching him do WWE, and he’s also transitioned into that YouTube boxing. Still, I am rooting for Dillon Danis because he comes from the same lineage of Jiu-Jitsu and mixed martial arts, and I always want to see the MMA guys succeed and make a lot of money. I can’t wait; I hope the fight happens. If it doesn’t happen, I will be so f*cking mad. It will be horrible, and I will talk so much sh*t to him.”
Who is Johnson Supporting
Johnson said he supports Danis in the fight and explains why on his podcast.
“I’m rooting for Dillon Danis, which, I can’t believe I’m saying it.”
“I feel like maybe this is the guy from our sport who can come in and get a victory for mixed martial arts because every single person that the Paul brothers have fought who fought mixed martial arts, they have defeated them. Our saviour, Dillon Danis.”
