Derek Chisora is reportedly mandatory for Daniel Dubois and his IBF World Heavyweight title says Frank Warren.
Chisora has let the world know of his plans to hit fight number 50 in his career and with that bout next he could be ending it with world honours.
Del Boy is #1 in the IBF Heavyweight rankings and now according to the man who promoted his last fight, Frank Warren, he is mandatory for the title.
The British Heavyweight only recently beat Otto Wallin in February this year knocking the German down twice on the way to a Unanimous Decision victory.
In that very post fight interview he called out Dubois, Usyk and Joshua in unusual fashion.
As a man of the people he let the crowd decide number 50 by holding up different photos of each fighter.
Chisora then waited to see who got the biggest cheer.
Despite this being ultimately pointless it seems like Del Boy could have a chance at Heavyweight gold.
Chisora Wants A Big Bang Ending-
Frank Warren being both Dubois promoter and Chisora’s last promoter revealed this news recently.
“He won it in his last fight and everyone knew what the fight was going to be for. He is the mandatory to our man, ‘Dangerous Dan [Dubois]’, so that’s the position he’s in.”
Although the mandatory position it is well known and documented that Dubois is chasing a fight with Usyk.
After falling ill in the Joseph Parker fight, which was for IBF honours, Dubois has been very quiet.
Warren is keen on the idea of Dubois taking on Derek Chisora especially if Usyk continues his hiatus from the ring.
“He wants a big fight to go out on. Eddie [Hearn] and I have had a couple of chats today and in due course will let people know our views on what we’ll do.”
Frank has even spoken to Eddie Hearn about some co ring walks after bot have promoted Chisora throughout his career.
“We both have been involved in his career, he started off with me, been with me a long time, was with me for the last few fights. We want to deliver that 50th fight. I want to work something between us that we both [Warren and Hearn] walk him out.”
