Dillon Danis with newfound hopes of joining the UFC has come out and announced who he would like to see in the Octagon for his debut. Danis took to X to call his shot and post a custom fight poster for his desired bout.
“My UFC debut against Paddy Pimblett would be quite the show, the buildup alone would be electric! And if we want to add some fun, we could be coaches on The Ultimate Fighter and have our fight at the end. Imagine the entertainment that would generate. Let’s give the people what they want and make fighting entertaining again,” Danis said on X.
Dillon Danis Recent Boxing Farce
As many know, the past month for Dillon Danis has been anything but ideal. His co-main event fight against Logan Paul on the Misfits Prime card didn’t quite go to plan. After throwing minimal punches, Danis shot a takedown as well as attempting a guillotine choke that resulted in a disqualification. After the loss, Danis was also officially dropped from the Bellator roster, making him a free agent.
As far as inside the cage, Danis’ last official MMA fight was all the way back in the summer of 2019, which saw the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu ace win by first round armbar.
Dana White Responds
It seems Dillon Danis still has a long way to go before entering the premier mixed martial arts organization. When asked about the potential signing, UFC President Dana White had few words on the matter.
“I don’t know. I haven’t even actually thought about that,” White said.
UFC Fighters Chime In
For now it seems Danis will just have to continue tagging White in social media posts to gain his attention. On the flipside many UFC fighters have shown support for Danis and his push to get signed by the UFC.
“He’s a very talented kid…He’s a great guy and the fact that he is actually in negotiations with the UFC or trying to get in is awesome. I’m very pumped for him, I root for him,” Alex Pereira said at the UFC 295 media day.
“I would love that. It would probably be the most watched Contender Series ever,” Anthony Smith said on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani.
As it stands there are no negotiations currently going on, however the support grows by the day for White to give Danis a chance in the UFC. Danis remains 2-0 in MMA.
