Dillon Danis made his boxing debut on Saturday night, as he faced Youtuber Logan Paul in a heated contest, in Manchester.
Paul won the fight via disqualification after a late skirmish in the bout led to Danis being on the floor. The winner threw a punch at Danis, and he responded by getting up and throwing more punches back at Paul.
Security and the teams of both men stormed the ring to break things up and the fight was ended there and then.
The two used the medium of social media to trash talk each other, leading up to the bout. Danis’ main focus of his disrespect wasn’t always aimed at his opponent, though. Paul’s fiancé Nina Agdal was often the one receiving the most abuse.
Even after the fight, there wasn’t much loved lost between the two, and the social media back and forth continued.
Dillon Danis’ Response to Logan Paul
Not long after his win, Paul took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to air his thoughts.
“Honestly nothing to be proud about,” said the 28-year-old. “That dude sucks, a real cunt. I’m gonna go back to living my life but felt good to beat his ass for 6 rounds and let him embarrass himself. Drink prime.”
The co-main event of MF & DAZN: X Series 010 — The Prime Card was the Prime co-owner’s second professional boxing bout. His fellow co-owner KSI lost for the first time as a boxer, being beaten by Tommy Fury in the night’s main event.
Danis, though, had no prior professional experience of competing in the sport that usually displays the sweet science.
He said, in response to Paul’s X post “A Jiu Jitsu guy with no boxing camp or coach made his debut, never wobbled, never dropped, had no standing 8 count, and rocked you multiple times.”
The 30-year-old added “If I were Nina, I’d call off the wedding. You achieved nothing in your own sport, MMA next.”
The Reaction to The Prime Card Co-Main event
There was quite a scathing response to what happened at the end of Saturday night’s co-main event.
talkSPORT’s Adam Catterall said “If you play stupid games, you get stupid results,” when referring to the chaotic ending of the fight. HIs colleague Spencer Oliver also wasn’t happy with the spectacle.
