Dominique Wooding is calling for the UFC to sign him. This Follows the rumours of a potential summer return to the UK by the global MMA leaders. Wooding recently retained his Cage Warriors bantamweight title by way of a spectacular knockout. It was his third such highlight-reel contribution in a row. The call-out adds fuel to the UFC UK summer card, and his style of fighting should certainly have the UFC interested.
Dominique Wooding Picks Potential Opponent
Wooding also seems to have an opponent in mind, calling out Kevin Natividad, an American coming off two straight losses. Natividad originally was signed to the UFC thanks to his impressive streak in the LFA organization which was topped off with a stoppage win due to punches over Kyle Estrada in the co-main event at LFA 85.
Dominique Wooding has clearly been awaiting the perfect time to make the jump. In an interview with UFC.com this year he said:
“That’s up to me to try and create because when I do get into the UFC I want to be a top contender and a champion,”
“With me being inside the UFC, I’ve got to make a bit of noise. Closed mouths don’t get fed.”
In the same interview, either JP Buys or Kevin Natividad were the names mentioned for a potential debut. It now appears that Wooding has narrowed his sights in on Natividad.
Many started taking much more notice of the Great Britain Top Team fighter after his sensational knockout of top UK prospect Nathan Fletcher. Fletcher was previously unbeaten prior to their encounter. Wooding landed a head kick that cemented not only the belt but the UK bantamweight number one ranking to the fighter.
“The Black Panther” has been rejuvenated in Cage Warriors and looks like a fun fight for anyone at bantamweight.
