Donald Cerrone has backed one-time rumoured opponent Paddy Pimblett over his polarizing weight gain in between fights. “Cowboy” is one of the longest-serving roster members. He gave his opinion on “The Baddy” ahead of Cerrone’s bout against Joe Lauzon this weekend.
Paddy Pimblett has often been seen to sport a to a stomach size perhaps more befitting a plumber than a prize fighter. That being said, he is not one for missing weight, so why should it matter?
Donald Cerrone spoke of his similar opinion at the UFC media day:
“He’s still young, He’s got it. I mean if that’s what he wants to do.” Cerrone continued “ The only problem with him getting big like that is that it sucks, the first part of your camp then goes to losing the weight.”
“But he’s still young, he’s learning and playing, I mean go do it, go get big. If you like pizza, lasagne and beer, eat it, brother, ’cause you earned it, so do your s**t.”
Pimblett himself is currently in fight camp. This means it will be at least another month before the mop-topped magician has the greenlight to indulge into a food coma once again. He takes on Jordan Leavitt at UFC London in July. The fight could turn out to be a chance to finally see Pimbletts full BJJ arsenal.
