Elliot Durham Predicts Stoppage Victory
Elliot, Saturday night, you’re back in there for the second time. How happy are you to be back after a successful debut?
I’m buzzing to be back with six days’ notice or a full camp. I’m just happy to have a chance to get back in the cage.
You won a split decision on your debut, but the “split” was questionable by the judges. What major positives have you taken away from your first amateur fight, and how was the experience?
I took the experience well. I don’t believe it was my best performance, so I’m looking to make up for that with a statement on Saturday.
Now, having made the walk, dealt with the nerves, and actually fought. How well are you managing the nerves this time around? Are you feeling comfortable?
The nerves will always be there. It’s just how I deal with them that changes. I’m embracing them a lot better this time around and channelling them into a positive energy coming towards fight night.
Ring Rust?
You’ve not been out since mid-2022, and with that comes ring rust, which causes some slight issues with finding your timing and managing the distance. Has that been a thought at all?
I know ring rust will be a factor in this, but I have spent most of the year preparing for multiple fights which have fallen through. This has caused my overall game to improve drastically since then, and I am a completely better fighter than I was last year. I’ve also been competing in grappling to stay busy, so I’ve still managed to get in a cage a few times this year and felt the warm-ups walk out etc.
Benjamin Andrew’s is the man you’ll face. What can we expect when the cage door closes on on you and Benjamin?
You can expect a composed and calculated performance on Saturday night. I’m going to finish him, and I’m going to do it quickly.
