Ellis Pilkington is gearing up for his return to the ring at the Unity Fighting Championship on June 1 at the Dolphin Centre in Darlington. He’ll be squaring off against Dacre Bradley in what promises to be an exciting matchup. After a brief hiatus, Ellis is ready to bring his refined skills and determined mindset back into the competition.
Ellis has been away from the competitive scene for a few months, and he’s excited to get back to fighting: “Body and mind feel great, but I’m definitely missing competing; it was nice to focus on developing more technique and athleticism for a while, but I’m buzzing to get fighting again,” he shared.
Despite his break, Ellis has stayed active in the gym, working on improving his overall abilities: “The time off was planned but I’ve been in the gym constantly since my last fight. The goal was just to improve weaknesses and become a more complete all-around fighter,” he explained.
Ellis Pilkington on Upcoming Bout on Unity FC
Looking ahead to his upcoming fight, Ellis hasn’t focused much on his opponent, Dacre Bradley, who has had only two fights so far: “I’ve not seen much of him at all to be honest, more just focusing on my own game than anything else,” Ellis mentioned.
When asked about the potential impact of Bradley’s limited fight experience, Ellis remained uncertain: “It’s hard to say, everyone handles fighting differently so I’ve got no clue how his experience will play into it,” he said.
Ellis is maintaining a level-headed approach to his return, focusing on his own performance and personal growth: “I expect a clinic, as always it’ll be entertaining but I’ll be looking to show off some new tricks as well.”
As he steps back into the ring, Ellis is driven by a desire to show his progress and leave it all out there on fight night. Tune in on June 1. to watch this matchup unfold.
