Jiu-jitsu is a sport that’s seen a lot of women join in recent years. But, there aren’t many chances for women to compete professionally. Enyo Pro Grappling is changing that. It’s the UK’s first pro-submission-only jiu-jitsu invitational for women and is making history by giving women more opportunities to compete.
ENYO PRO GRAPPLING SET TO MAKE WAVES
It’s been great to see women doing well in jiu-jitsu competitions and getting more recognition in the sport. But, there’s still not enough representation of women. Enyo Pro Grappling is helping to fix this by giving women a platform to showcase their skills and compete professionally.
Enyo Pro Grappling is happening on Saturday, February 25th at Central Hall Southampton. There will be 40 top female jiu-jitsu fighters from around the country competing in a submission-only format. This format focuses on technical skill and sportsmanship, making for a fair and exciting competition. The event will have a mix of no-gi and gi matches, and a title fight between Ashley Bendle, a bronze medalist at the 2022 IBJJF Worlds Ju-jitsu, and Sophia Cassella, a 4-time No GI Pans champion.
We are lucky enough to have the support of grapplefest and we use their submission only ruleset which keeps the matches exciting as there is a lot of submission hunting.
Our goal is to support and push womens bjj. To give the incredible up and coming women in the UK and Europe the platform to showcase their skills and take their jiu jitsu to the next level. We want to not just showcase the best athletes out there that we have but also inspire the younger generation coming up through the sport. We are still a small growing show, but our hope is as we grow we can do more and more for womens BJJ.
We would also like to say a huge thank you to our sponsors and partners as well as everyone that has supported us by buying tickets, ppv and sharing our posts. We couldn’t be doing this without all of them and we can’t wait to bring you all show number 3 later this year.
