Cage Warriors is coming back to California with an exciting event. The main event will showcase 10-6 lightweight Erick Sanchez.
Erick Sanchez (10-6) faces off against Jamey Lynch (5-2) in the lightweight main event at Cage Warriors 143 in California. The 27-year-old Sanchez is coming off a win in Combate in June of last year and will be looking to build off of that momentum with a win in front of his home crowd.
Sanchez is a dangerous fighter in all aspects, with three wins coming by way of knockout, and three wins coming from submission. He’ll be looking to use his skills to keep Lynch at bay and pick up a big win in front of his home crowd.
I had the opportunity to speak to Erick Sanchez ahead of his main event bout:

You will be fighting for Cage Warriors, and will be seen on a global stage. What does that mean to you?
“Yes! It means more exposure and excited to showcase for fans watching live or at home”
What qualities do you possess that you believe will give you the edge over your opponent?
“Experience will make the difference”
Goals and Fight Style
What are your short-term and long-term goals within the sport?
“As of right now I’m where I need to be, I want to stay active in competition and set my self and 4 year mark to do everything I want in this sport.”
How would you describe your fight style to someone who has never seen you fight before? Is there anybody at the top of the sport you would compare your style of fighting too?
“I don’t really have a particular style I think. I adapt to the moment”

How did you get into the sport?
“Back in 2009 I wanted to get in shape and walked in to Urijah Faber’s gym. After that everything just fell in place.”
Who are some of your favorite fighters to watch, and why?
“I enjoy watching Ronaldo Souza, Yoel Romero , Rodtang Jitmuangnon, Buakaw Banchamek. Those are just a few.”
Outside of fighting, what do you like to do? Do you have any interesting hobbies you do when not training?
“I like to spend my time out in nature. Swimming no matter if it’s cold or hot I like to spend my time out there.”

“I predict the Win for me. As of how it goes down we’re gonna find out that day!”
