With Bellator 291 just days away, we thought we’d take a closer look at every British fighter who makes the walk Saturday in Dublin.
Every British Fighter at BELLATOR 291
Steven Hill
First on the card for the Brits will be England’s Steven Hill. He’ll make his second walk to the Bellator cage and boasts an impressive record of 6-0. Of his six wins five have been finished with three TKOs and two submissions.
At just 29, another impressive performance in his second outing could make Hill a marked man in the company. In a division full of talent. Steven will hope he can make an impact when the lights shine brightest.
Competing on the night in a welterweight bout he will be taking on Joël Kouadja (7-9). Despite his record, Joël shouldn’t be overlooked. The Frenchman has won six of his last seven bouts, finishing all six.
Craig McIntosh
Craig McIntosh will make his Bellator debut when he enters the cage Saturday. A grappling specialist, he started his MMA career back in 2014. He would compete six times before taking a five-year hiatus before returning in 2021.
With a record of 3-4, it would be easy to dismiss the ability of McIntosh. The Scottish fighter might not have a star-studded resume, but he’s as dangerous as they come when it comes to his domain. Of his seven fights, only one has seen the judge’s scorecards.
Craig will be taking on a tough test in the form of 4-0 Kenny Mokhonoana. The Irish fighter will look to make it back-to-back wins for Bellator.
We had the pleasure of speaking to Craig before the bout. Check out what he had to say here.
Liam McCracken
Next up on the night will be the 21-year-old prospect, Liam McCracken. With an extensive amateur record of 8-3, Liam made the transition to the professional ranks seamlessly. Amassing a 3-0 record thus far in his short career.
All three victories have come via first-round stoppage. A potential featherweight contender in the making. Liam will be looking to show the world his talents and make 2023 a year to remember.
Liam’s skills are clearly rated by the Bellator hierarchy as he has a solid opponent on Saturday. Taking on McCracken will be 4-1 Frenchman Asaël Adjoudj. Riding a four-fight winning streak each man enters the bout in tremendous form.
Liam spoke to us ahead of his much-anticipated fight, find out his thoughts here.
Mike Shipman
The final Brit on the card will be Bellator veteran Mike Shipman. Making his ninth appearance for the promotion, Mike has amassed a stellar 5-3 record for them, and a 14-4 record overall.
Stepping in the cage against some of the best Bellator has to offer, the occasion shouldn’t phase Shipman. A finisher of the highest order, only two of Mike’s bouts has seen the final bell.
Taking on the 32-year-old on the night will be Ireland’s own Charlie Ward. A name that is now somewhat synonymous with the Bellator middleweight division. Ward has been putting on entertaining scraps in the red gloves for almost ten fights. His overall MMA record is 10-5.
