Interview With Blair Ford
After almost three years since your last bout, what was the feeling like going back into camp, and how are you feeling going into the last week from your return?
I’ve been training hard and consistently since Christmas time, so when I got the original call for the fight, it was just business as usual. I’m feeling fit and sharp, but overall just excited to get back out there.
What have you been using the time since your last fight to work on?
It’s been a surprisingly quick three years away from competition. I’ve spent my time wisely working on perfecting my technique in every single aspect of the sport. I truly believe you’re going to see the best version of Blair Ford come March 4th.
What are the main objectives come March 4th?
To go in there and perform at my best, showing all the hard work I’ve put in. I’ve won both my fights by stoppage, so it would be cool to keep that up.
Your opponent Scott has a record of 1-0-0, have you been able to see anything to game plan?
I’ve seen his fight, and there’s not really much to take from it. I know he’s also had an ultra-MMA fight, but that means nothing really in the grand scheme of things. I’ve been doing this for six years, so I’m positive my experience will prevail. I’m 100% confident I’ll be far better than him everywhere.
What can the fans expect when the octagon door closes and the first bell goes?
For me to put him on the back foot and from the start and put it on him.
If things go to plan on March 4th what are the goals for the rest of 2023?
I’m not looking past this fight one bit. I’ve got my honeymoon in April, so I’ll train as normal up until then, and I’ll see about getting something organised after that. Something round about summer time would be cool.
