Dakota Bush was released from the UFC in 2022 but has revealed that he is now looking to return to the promotion at any cost.
He did not win a fight while with the UFC. However, since leaving he has won three fights in a row under the promotions of FAC and Iowa Fight Series.
Dana White and the UFC matchmakers are not shy to bring fighters in on short notice, and Bush hopes he can be given the opportunity to return.
He said: “You want to be there so bad, any offers that come up again, I’m ready to go! I just know where I belong. I just want to, you know, prove to myself that the sacrifices were worth it.”
The 29-year-old went on to say he doesn’t care too much about the weight class he returns at.
He continued: “Yeah, 170, I don’t care. 70, 55, it doesn’t matter. Even if it was the right matchup at 85 I’d take it!”
MMA Fighter Dakota Bush Discusses His First Stint With The UFC
‘Hairy’ only had two fights under the UFC banner, the first came on short notice against Austin Hubbard where he was beaten over the course of 15 minutes.
The second came against Vyacheslav Borschev where he was caught with a liver shot in the first round.
The Missourian reflected on his stint with the UFC.
He said: “It’s a little frustrating. I’m definitely over it, [but] it’s still a little sour taste in my mouth.
“Like you said, it’s just the cards that I was dealt. Like I said, short notice fight on the first one, second fight – I was doing really well and just got caught and you know that’s part of the game.
“It’s unfortunate. I only got that much time to showcase but it’s gonna be a different story when I do get back.”
