OKTAGON newcomer James Dixon has described his plans for an early stoppage victory when he fights at OKTAGON 56.
‘The Lionheart’ has spent the first six fights of his career fighting under Wolverhampton-based Golden Ticket Fight Promotions. However, now he is with OKTAGON and plans to mark his debut with a stoppage win.
He faces Max Handanagic, out of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the early portion of the card and discussed his preparation for the fight at the event’s media day in Birmingham.
He said: ”I do a lot of visualisation, and I’ve visualised it many ways.
“I’ve [even] visualised him winning and I’ve always talked about this, when it comes to composing a game plan, you’ve gotta visualise how he is most likely to win and how I can prevent that.
“That being said, obviously I’ve gotta be cautious with my own conservation of energy but I do think I’ll put him away, I do think I’ll stop him.”
James Dixon Further Discusses His Plans For The Fight
The 29-year-old is currently 4-2 as a professional with all four wins coming by finish. A large part of his game is based around the low kick which he uses to set up his devastating power.
This will be the game plan once more for the Lions Gym man on April 20 inside Resorts World Arena.
He continued: “I imagine I’ll soften him up with low kicks, very much like all of my fights and I imagine I’ll find him with a cross-counter at some point and that’ll be all she wrote.
“Whether that folds him in half, whether I have to follow up for a TKO, I do see myself finishing him in one or two rounds.
”If I was a betting man, which I’m not, but if I was then I would maybe put some money on that.”
