OKTAGON middleweight Lee Chadwick is excited to showboat his skillset in his final walk to the cage at OKTAGON 48 in Manchester.
The 38-year-old has enjoyed a fruitful career, fighting in Bellator, PFL, Cage Warriors, and now OKTAGON. The Czech promotion have pitted him against Zdenek Polivka, a late-replacement opponent, for the final hurrah.
However, Chadwick is relishing the final camp of his career as he looks to show off his evergreen skills.
He said: “I’m enjoying it to be honest with you and I’m looking forward to seeing what I can achieve in this fight.
“I’ve been working on quite a few new – not so much moves, but perfecting everything I’ve got. Making my position skills better, my takedowns better, my striking better, everything just feels so much better now. So, I’m looking forward to showboating it on this show!”
The Liverpudlian continued to say the opportunity to retire in his home country is “amazing”.
“It’s amazing because the [in] last few years I’ve been fighting around Europe.
“To be close to my hometown in the UK and be on a show with a lot of other top UK fighters, people are going to be watching so it’s going to be really good and it’ll be an amazing feeling walking out to that cage.”
Chadwick Reveals Game Plan For Final Fight
‘The Butcher’ has amassed a variety of different wins across his 17-year career. But, he is only looking to end the fight in one way on 4 November.
50% of Chadwick’s wins have been via submission and he looks to do the same when he makes the walk on Saturday night.
He said: “I’m gonna take him down, if I get on top of him he’s going to be in a world of trouble.
“My submissions, especially my chokes – I’m a choking specialist I believe. 90% of the submissions I get in training are chokes and he’s been caught by them. I will be hunting a few of those.
He went on to discuss which submission in particular he would like to get.
He continued: “I believe I’m either going to get him with a head-and-arm choke or a guillotine. I’ve perfected those techniques [and] I can get them from all angles.
“I do think I’ll catch him with one of them [but] I’m good with everything: heel hooks, omoplatas, triangles, armbars. I can do everything but I do love choking, there’s something that just makes me feel good about squeezing a neck haha!”
