Fan favorite Yu Yau Pui will welcome Scotlands Amy Pirnie to the ONE Championship Womens Atomweight Muay Thai division on August 3rd for 3 rounds of high calibre action at ONE Fight Night 24 live from the legendary Lumpinee Stadium.
Yu Yau Pui
Hailing from Hong Kong Yu hadn’t originally considered fighting when she first started studying martial arts, the purpose was more aimed at staying in shape. With no specific background or experience her heroes were not professional fighters but people who simulated the art on the big screen. There was no bigger hero for Yu than fellow Hong Kong native Jackie Chan, who Yu had idolised from the age of a child.
It wasnt until Yu started impresseing her trainers, that she was offered the opportunity to take part in a sparring session and has never looked back. Having already excelled at punching and kicking a bag, Yu found that landing strikes against an actual opponent was a lot more of interest for her. Her early sparring partners might not have been house hold names, but the same cannot be said for Lara Fernandez, Marie Ruumet and Celest Hansen who have all fell short to the 31-year old.
