Fares Ziam shows vast improvements as he scores a unanimous decision victory over Michal Figlak at UFC Paris. A sensational display from Ziam who shone brightly in front of his home crowd.
Taking in a 9-0 opponent he silenced any doubters and used the roaring crowd to his advantage. Using his 5” reach advantage he was picking his shots at range. Landing kick and jabs then landing hooks and uppercuts when it got close.
Formerly critiqued for his lack of grappling. That should no longer be an issue. Scoring several takedowns throughout and looking comfortable doing so.
His best moment of the fight was arguably a beautiful spinning elbow that buckled the knees of his opponent. A well-rounded and complete display of MMA, it was a huge win for Fares Ziam in Paris.
What’s Next?
At only 25, Fares has the world at his feet. 13-4 as a pro and he moves to 3-2 in the UFC. Bouncing back after a loss last time out he hopes to put a run together.
Adding tools to his already impressive arsenal. Fares Ziam was brilliant bell to bell on the night. If he can keep up this form he poses a problem for many other Lightweights.
