Farid Basharat remains undefeated with an extremely professional performance to earn a decision victory over Da’Mon Blackshear at UFC 285.
Round 1
Both men start with bad intentions throwing creative strikes looking to land the knockout blow. Da’Mon Blackshear looks to take the fight to the mat, but Farid Basharat defends. Basharat then decides he’ll take it to the canvas and he holds top control.
The competitive first round ends with both men in the centre looking for openings to land strikes.
Round 2
Blackshear looks to impose his will early and does so well through the opening thirty seconds. Basharat weathers the storm and lands a nice spinning back kick to the body of Da’Mon. Blackshear uses a lock on Basharat’s leg to score a takedown and transition into a position of control. Farid does extremely well to get back to his feet.
Basharat answers back with a takedown of his own to even the score. Not content on just riding the round out on top, Basharat begins to unleash some ruthless elbows ending the round extremely strong.
Round 3
Blackshear looks to make amends for his ending to the second round and presses the action. Basharat remains unfazed and scores a takedown landing strikes. Blackshear does find his feet but it’s not long before he is back on his back.
Blackshear throws a Hail Mary triangle choke but the clock runs down just in time for Basharat to survive.
Farid Basharat win the bout via unanimous decision (29-28, 29-28, 29-28)
In a competitive fight, Basharat shows plenty of skills inside the cage to excite fans moving forward. Winning his debut the only way is up.

Farid Basharat moves to 10-0 winning his UFC debut
A step up in competition would be ideal for Farid next time out. An opponent in a similar position would make sense, however, if the UFC have faith in the fighter they might hand him a more established name.
Names that could potentially fit the more established name criteria could be the likes of Ronnie Lawrence or Ricky Turcios. Both of these men have multiple UFC fights and will add to the already imprecise resume of Basharat.
