Mario Pinto Sleeps Austen Lane for Performance of the Night Bonus
UFC Vegas 103 treated fans to several stunning finishes. However, none could compete with the unbridled violence on display from Mario Pinto. In his UFC debut, the undefeated prospect improved his record to 10-0 with a second-round KO over former NFL player Austen Lane.
Lane looked good through the first round, landing some heavy shots and scoring a knockdown. It seemed that it may be a long (or short) night for Pinto, after he was out-landed at a 2-to-1 clip in the opening frame.
The second brought more of the same, until Mario Pinto showcased what makes the Heavyweight division truly special; life-altering punching power. He connected with a heavy two-punch combination punctuated by a perfect right hook to the jaw. Lane fell limply to the canvas, and the referee stepped in to save him from further damage. The savage spectacle earned the debutante a $50,000 bonus for Performance of the Night.
