Leon Edwards made history last night becoming the second ever UFC champion from the United Kingdom after separating the pound-for-pound king Kamaru Usman from consciousness at UFC 278.
The Birmingham native was down on all three of the judges scorecards, and leading into the last minute of the fifth round it was evident that Edward’s needed the finish. The challenger pulled through capitalising on Usman’s mistake and landed a flush head-kick to the target, capturing a potential “Knockout of the Year”
