Last night in Manchester, England, Tommy Fury and KSI headlined the Misfits Boxing ‘The Prime Card’ event.
KSI made his first walk to the ring for the first time since May, where at the time was awarded with a knockout victory over Joe Fournier. The contest was later overturned after upon watching the replay, KSI struck Fournier with his elbow to the temple. Before the controversial outing, KSI knocked out FaZe Temperrr in the first round this January.
Fury, entered the fight (9-0), and undoubtfully had the majority of the pressure on his shoulders, being the legitimate ‘professional boxer’. The 24-year-old Englishman last fought in February, which saw him edge a split decision over Jake Paul.
The Misfits Boxing event was live only on DAZN pay-per-view, and was certainly not worth paying for. The production was excellent throughout, but the standard of boxing didn’t match. The headliner between Fury and KSI wasn’t easy on the eye. KSI landed a stiff punch in the opening round of the fight, and then spent the rest of the fight initiating a clinch with Fury, and on occasions, Fury would do the same. To the judges’ eye, Fury did just enough to get his hand raised and to advance to (10-0). However, if he was to have lost to KSI, he couldn’t of had any complaints.
Logan Paul also featured on the card and defeated Dillon Danis in the co-main event. The fight ended in the way of disqualification for Danis after he tried to take Paul down, and latch onto his neck.
Official Result: Tommy Fury defeats KSI by majority decision (57-57, 57-56, 57-56).
