Former UFC Star Darren Till is once again back in the news for the wrong reasons.
Till – former UFC welterweight title challenger – appeared in Liverpool Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday after being accused of multiple driving offences.
The Charges
‘The Gorilla’ has been charged with driving without insurance, driving while disqualified and obstructing a constable in execution of duty.
Till is headed to trial on August 30th after pleading not guilty to the charges stemming from an incident on May 21st.
According to the Liverpool Echo, the 30-year-old will appear in court after being granted unconditional bail.
Former UFC Star Darren Till In Trouble Again
This isn’t the first time Till has been in trouble with the law.
In 2022, Till was arrested for drunk driving in Sweden.
He and four other individuals were fined £10,000 after joyriding a taxi in Tenerife back in 2019.
What’s Next For Till?
The future looked bright for ‘The Gorilla’ in 2018.
A six fight unbeaten streak in the UFC earned him a welterweight title shot against Tyron Woodley, but he came up short and was submitted in the second round.
The shot at the title may have come too soon for the then 25-year-old Till, who went on to win only one out of his next six fights.
The win came against Kelvin Gastelum on his return to middleweight, but he was unable to build on this.
Till was then released by the UFC after requesting to be let go to pursue other interests.
After his latest run in with the law, Till announced the launch of his own ‘Gorilla Fight Club’.
The influencer-based boxing promotion promises to feature high-profile stars such as sports stars, actors, musicians and influencers.
Till himself is planning to fight in the promotion and told ESRB Boxing that he wants to “fight around July time.”
